All food products with the label „Ohne Gentechnik hergestellt“ are continuously monitored by external monitoring authorities. This ensures that the products are produced without any genetic engineering procedures, from the field to the final product.
Strict and periodical controls conducted by external monitoring bodies are an indispensable precondition for the usage of the quality label.
The monitoring process consists of so called “process controls”. That means: not only the final product is being analysed, but the whole production process, thus the entire product “life cycle” of a food product – from the seed to the cultivation on the fields to the processing and the final packaging resp. labelling.
Monitoring authorities have to be authorized for monitoring by the board of ARGE Gentechnik-frei and to accredited by the responsible authority for the GMO-free Directive resp. according to the EN 45011.
