Responsibilities of the association

The objective of ARGE Gentechnik-frei is to create reliable framework conditions for the production, labelling and monitoring of GMO-free food products. For this purpose, ARGE Gentechnik-frei is in regular and intensive contact with all key decision-makers and stakeholders in the field of GMO-free food and food labelling.

Objectives of the association

The association's objectives are:

  • to disseminate, promote and support the concept and idea of GMO-free food products and animal feed, primarily in Austria, but also throughout Europe and the rest of the world, in the interests of ensuring the comprehensive and exhaustive information and protection of consumers;
  • to regularly provide the public with comprehensive information on new developments, methods and experiences in the production of GMO-free food products and animal feed via every type of media;
  • to create the political, technical and communicational conditions necessary for the successful production and marketing of GMO-free food products and animal feed for economic, environmental and political stakeholders by means of open cooperation;
  • to collectively develop the necessary quality standards for GMO-free food products and animal feed;
  • to facilitate the exchange of experience relating to questions of production technology in genetic engineering and associated political issues;
  • to guide communications with the public, the institutions responsible for questions regarding genetic engineering, and the food and animal feed industries onto the right track.

The association is a not-for-profit organisation. It pursues only non-material goals and uses the abovementioned measures, among others, to achieve these goals.

Contacting us

If you contact us via the contact form on the website or via email, the data you have provided will be stored with us for six months, for the purpose of processing your inquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We will not disclose this data without your consent.

If you contact one of our member companies or member organisations via the contact form, the data you submit will not be stored with us and cannot be viewed by us.

Web analysis

On the basis of our legitimate interests (i.e. interests in the analysis, optimisation and economic operation of our website as defined by Article 6(1)f of the GDPR), we use web analysis services provided by Google LLC ("Google"), i.e. Google Analytics and Google Search Console. We have entered into a third-party data processing agreement with Google. As the privacy of our users is very important to us, the user data are pseudonymised.

Google uses cookies that collect information on how users use the website. This information is generally transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there. You can prevent this from happening by changing the settings on your browser so that cookies are not stored.

Although your IP address is recorded, it is then pseudonymised immediately (as described above). This means that only a rough localisation is possible. The various cookies used by Google are stored for the following periods: _utma: 2 years following access; _utmb: 30 minutes following access; _utmc: until the end of the session; _utmt: 10 minutes following access; _utmz: 12 hours following access.

You can subscribe to our newsletter via our website. For this, we will need your name, your email address and confirmation that you agree to receiving the newsletter.
